Tomorrow, April 15, federal taxes are due and rallies around the country are planned to protest government spending and taxes. Protests have been organized in the past to occur on tax day, but the protests scheduled tomorrow are predicted to be much more organized and supported. Tens of thousands are expected to participate in protests across the nation. These protests continue to gain support across the nation and have been dubbed ‘Tea Parties’. Some republicans are claiming they have no vested interested in these protests and have not organized them. Democrats are claiming the Tea Party goers are misguided, right winged activists who are blind to the good that the spending and taxes do for America. Regardless of what side of the aisle you support, it is great to see citizens speak up and organize in a peaceful manner to voice their opinion on political issues.

Republicans should celebrate that these tea parties are gaining mainstream attention. Regardless if the GOP has organized the event or not, these protests send a clear message to Washington that the ballooning government deficit and tax hikes will not get a free pass from the American people. The deficit has been increasing since the Bush administration, and the Obama administration plans to continue the trend. The debt that America is taking on has even some democrats starting to shake their head. The debt the federal government is taking on for the next couple years is predicted to explode. New waves of taxes are being rolled out that has citizens laughing and crying at the same time. Two hundred percent increase on cigarettes in some states, taxes on owning a pet, on soda, cell phones, and even on street lights. In New York 33% of your cell phone bill is taxes. The government is on a road that is not financially scalable. A tax and spend mentality has been adopted by state governments, as well as, the federal government. The economy has caused tax revenue to plummet pushing the government into debt as it tries to maintain its spending. The government’s solution…tax more to spend more! The American people are seeing through this idiotic solution and have begun to organize and protest. Republican sponsored or not, they only stand to benefit from the publicity these protests stand to make.

The democrats need to be careful on how they react to this situation. Some democrats have all ready come out and basically insulted those who are participating by calling them fringe extremist conservatives. Patience is not a virtue the American people possess. Unless the democratic controlled federal government can find some solutions in the near future, they will crash and burn in the next election. Fundamentally, they do not understand the frustration people are having. People do not want to be taxed on their pet, so the democratic government can build a sidewalk in the park. People do not want to pay an extra 33% on their phone bill every month so unemployed people can have one extra month of income. The democrats do not understand that they are building the world’s biggest self licking ice cream cone. You take money from the people to give back to only some of the people. To make things worse, the government is so inefficient, you are left with a system less than you put in. Some left leaning groups are so misguided they have even pledged to protest the tea party protesters.

Only in American can those with so little mental capacity hold so much clout.
